This week's Story...

Is Smokey's Story!!!

This week I'm going to post pictures and facts about Smokey. After you read my posts, write a comment on your cat or on Smokey. To start off the week, let's talk about how Smokey got to be my cat...

It all started about a year and six months ago, my best friend was sleeping over at my house. We were just hanging out, talking, having fun, and then my dad came home from work. He had something in his arms, but I didn't really pay attention to it. So anyway, he went in his bedroom and my mom followed him. Of course, I had no idea what was going on. So my friend and I just kept talking, until my dad came out of his room and just lied down in the hallway. I was like, "Uh...dad? Did you have a heart attack or something?" But I kept my mouth closed because he seemed like he was concentrating on something. Then he got up and I stopped worrying about him. But next I heard the most adorable, but frightened, sound. *Mew? Mew!* I looked in the hallway and said (almost screamed), "Hannah! There's a cat in the hallway!!!" She turned to look and screamed, "A CAT?!?!" We both said at the same time, "Awwww!" And hurried over to her. I picked the kitten up and held her on my lap. All I remember is that we just kept petting her and petting her, until my parents came over to us and I said, "Can we keep her?" They laughed and said, "Of course!" Hannah and I wanted to surprise our brothers, who were playing video games in the living room. We picked the kitten up and let her walk into the living room. Of course, video games ruining their minds, I finally had to walk out and say, "Guys! Look!" They kept staring into the TV, but finally paused the game long enough to see the kitten. At least the surprise was enough to get them to turn off the video games! We all decided on naming her Mittens, but the next day my mom and I found an even better name: Smokey. After Hannah went home, I asked my dad how he got Smokey. He said, "Well, my friend, Lido, who I work with; has a shop in the alley. And in that alley, there was a family of cats. One day Lido tried calling the cats over, and he was about to give up, when brave old Smokey walked up to him. He gave her to me and I decided to keep her." We always joke around that we got the dumbest cat out of that litter, because Smokey's mom was probably telling her, "Smokey, NEVER walk, talk, or look at strangers!" And what did Smokey do? She went close enough so that Lido could grab her. xD But we all know that Smokey is one of the smartest cats living. :D

Hey guys! So today I'm going to post some of the funniest things about Smokey. Well when she was younger she would eat until her stomach was as big as a balloon!!! xD And then when she was little, she would get crazy and attack her Stitch toy, then she would take off in one direction and slam into everything! Once she tried to run through my closed slider door. xD

Smokey and her favorite toy: A Stitch Puppet from the TV show series Lilo and Stitch

It seems like all cats want to do all day is sleep, sleep, and more SLEEP!

Good ol' Smokey, winking at the camera.

I was outside one day and Smokey wanted to follow me out. Sadly, she's de-clawed on all four paws so she isn't allowed outside. Anyway, this picture was taken from the outside side of the window.

Welcome!

If you are reading this message right now, you probably love animals right? Great! Because my blog is all about animals, how funny they can be, how to take care of them, and how loveable they can be. I help people overcome the deaths of their animals, and instead of mourning, adoring and remembering all the great times they had. To start things off right, let me introduce you to my current pets. :]

Smokey here, I have to admit, is my most favorite. Some people may think that cats are arrogant and don't care about humans, but really....that's true! I still love Smokey though, she's cute, hilarious, and one of my best animal friends. She follows me everywhere, but seems to deny that she loves me but she really does. :)
Another picture to show Smokey's markings. She was found in an alley, and we believe that she's a Siamese mix.
This guy has a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records for being Dumb. (Just kidding!) His name is Lucky. He's one of my newest pets. I believe he's a Queensland and Labrador mix. His full name is Lucky Charms.
This beautiful masterpiece made by God is Skylar. She's a seven (almost eight!) year old parakeet, whom I inherited from my Grandmother, who she was given to by my cousin. This little girl has had a tough life, four different homes! But she's a one of a kind little bird.
This is my charming little hamster, Cleopatra. Her nickname is Cleo (for short) and she is just the cutest thing! She's a pretty new member of the family, but she's made herself right at home. She's a Winter White hamster, and she's supposed to turn white in the winter-time. We'll see!
Another picture of Cleo, showing her unique markings.

These are my brother's mice, Blackberry (the black one) and Sugar (the white one.) They aren't hand tame, like Cleo (I always prefer my pets over my sibling's) and they are VERY messy, but they're entertaining to watch.

And last, but certainly not least, is Peanut Butter. She's a five year old guinea pig, and she used to have three other friends, but they passed away. :'( I'll tell you more about her friends in my next post. But Peanut Butter was always very shy, now that she's all alone she's even more shy. It's sad for her, but I try to spend as much time as I can with her.
This is Peanut Butter from the top view.

And those are my pets! Feel free to post about your animals, and about mine. :)
